How Video Door Phone and Fingerprint Biometrics Protect The House?

We adopt numerous methods to stay safe at our home. Some of these methods include video door phone and fingerprint biometrics systems.

Video Door Phone

Video door phone is also known as the video intercom, which people install at the residence, bungalow, or apartment to verify the entry of a person at the entrance. It manages calls done by the guard at the gate and ensures contact with insiders and outsiders.

The insiders of the house can see outsiders at the video door phone. Access is given only if the insider recognizes the person. Another excellent feature of this security system is that insiders of the house can video chat with the person calling without actually opening the door.

Let's understand the working of video door phone:

  • First, the outsider makes a call via push button.

  • The micro camera of the system seizes the caller's image. With the help of a microphone, the caller can talk to the insiders.

  • Insider releases the door lock to ensure the duplex conversation.

Without the permission of the insider, the caller can't open the door.

Fingerprint Biometrics System

The fingerprint biometric system is used at the residence's entrance to ensure safety from the unauthorized person. It feeds your fingerprint information into the system. So, when you enter your home the next time, you must provide your fingerprints to open the door.

Using biometrics, you can validate the identity of the person coming to the door. If the system doesn't recognize the fingerprint, it is unknown access.

Fingerprint biometrics is a DNA identification process that is reliable. Additionally, it is affordable and effective.

Working of fingerprint biometric system:

  • The system's scanner first scans your finger to take the fingerprint by lighting up. It ensures capturing the curves, ridges, and lines of your fingers.

  • The information is then generated in an image.

  • The door unlocks as soon as it recognizes the fingerprint. Else, it remains unlocked unless a person inside opens up the door.

Today, the fingerprint biometric system is widely used as it provides strict security, and there can be no flaw in the system's software to fake it.
